Beskrivelse
The Venture Heat Dive Vest is the underwater heater for the technical diver, the sport diver, the recreational diver and for water sports enthusiasts in the broadest sense.
The heating vest keeps the body at temperature, allowing you to dive under colder conditions not only much more comfortably and longer but, most importantly, much more safely. Venture Heat is 100% guaranteed waterproof and saltwater resistant and can therefore be used under both a dry suit and a neoprene suit, and can even be used without a suit in the water. The heating elements on the belly and on the back in the vest give off heat comparable to the sun’s radiation, using an FIR infrared system. These elements are powered from 2 rechargeable Lithium Ion batteries, which have a short-circuit protection device and an on/off switch. An LED voltage indicator also shows the remaining capacity of the batteries. The batteries are carried in 2 pockets on the side of the vest. Using the included rechargeable wireless remote control, you can switch the system on both on land and underwater, regulate the heat in 3 levels and switch it off again. Venture Heat offers a warm and comfortable enrichment of diving and will also enhance your safety.
Venture Heat features:
Energy:
Because the vest generates heat, the body does not have to work as hard to maintain its temperature. You are less tired at the end of a dive with a heat vest. This leaves you with energy. The vest = energy
Safety i.c.w. gas exchange/decompression disease:
A warm body has a better gas exchange than a cold body. The longer a dive lasts, the further a body will normally cool down and the gas exchange will slow down. This is precisely the opposite that is necessary. At the end of a dive, you should gas out as much as possible. With a thermal jacket, you keep your body at temperature and you can gas out better in the second half of your dive than you can without a thermal jacket.
Safety in physical form:
Muscles and joints function better when the body is at temperature. You can intervene more easily and quickly in conditions when they are at temperature, than when your body is cold and stiff.
Safety in a spiritual sense:
When your body is at temperature, you can think better than when you are cold. Your thoughts are clearer. And with that, you can act more safely in situations.
100% waterproof:
The system is 100% guaranteed waterproof. Even if your dry suit is completely filled with salt water, the system remains fully operational. This is great if you need to make a (long) decompression stop and have a leak in your dry suit. You will come up warm afterwards. Whereas any other heating system will immediately, or after some time, give up and you get cold. Just when you need a heating system the most (when there is a leak in your dry suit), you can count on Venture Heat to get you to the surface warm and safe.
Saltwater resistant:
The system is not only fresh but also saltwater resistant. Other systems break down as soon as they come into contact with salt water.
F.I.R. Long-wave infrared:
The system does not work with metal wiring, but with a plastic cable that looks most like fibre optic cable. It is not but it works on a similar basis. The cables generate light in an invisible frequency. This frequency is long-wave infrared and these radiate heat. This is the heat that Venture Heat provides. Similar to the heat of the sun that makes you feel so nice and warm. It is the same heat of an infrared sauna. It’s all the same infrared, because infrared is a frequency in invisible light. It is an originally natural heat source which is mimicked with technology.
Heat transport:
The heat element is located on the back and on the abdomen. The heat on the back is absorbed and transported by the organs, mainly the liver and lungs. These are responsible in the body for producing and transporting heat. The back is the best place for the heating element because its organs are closest to the skin. The back also has the least amount of vest tissue that could act as a restriction.
The heating element on the belly mainly provides insulation to minimise water pressure, air insulation, and therefore the coldest.
Heat levels:
The Venture Heat vest has 3 heat settings.
Level 1 is most suitable for use under a dry suit and provides sufficient heat for the entire dive. Depending on the ambient temperature, which affects battery capacity, the system can generate heat for up to 6 hours in this mode.
Level 2 is one step warmer than level 1. It can be switched on when (temporarily) more heat is desired.
Level 3 is a fairly high heat setting and will be used most often when the heat vest is used under a wetsuit with cooling inflowing water or when the dry suit is (partially) flooded with water. Or when diving conditions are extremely cold.
Cable-less:
The entire system is on the inside of the suit, which means there is no extra cabling on the outside of the suit. The fewer cables the better.
The system is universally applicable in any dry suit and any wet suit. It is interchangeable among users and also if your suit is under repair and you go diving with another suit. There are no extra costs for grommets.
Wireless operation:
Operation is completely wireless via the included wireless remote control. It is guaranteed to be waterproof up to 100 metres, as are the vest and batteries. No additional cables are needed. The remote control can be worn on the wrist or secured elsewhere on the equipment. Holding down the button on the controller for 3 seconds will switch the system on (make sure that the batteries are also individually switched on, otherwise the system will not work!) A vibration signal will be felt on the belly when the system is switched on. By repeatedly pressing briefly on the button of the remote control, the heat level can be changed. Each time, a corresponding vibration signal can be felt. By pressing and holding the button again for at least 3 seconds, the system will switch off and a long vibration signal can be felt on the abdomen.
If desired, the system can be switched on on land and the remote control left on shore while the diver goes underwater with the activated system.
Safe batteries:
Venture Heat batteries are safe to use. The version of Li-ion batteries used are made with Metal Oxide instead of the usual way with Phosphorus and Cobalt. The latter 2 raw materials are the cause when batteries self-ignite. Venture Heat batteries therefore contain NO Phosphorus and Cobalt, but function with Metal Oxide which can hardly self-ignite. Metal oxide Li-ion batteries are heavier than Phosphorus/Cobalt batteries. Which in this case is convenient for a diver, as it saves on the lead to be carried.
Self-ignition of a battery has a cause: the most common reason is that they are “overcharged” or if the battery is damaged. Venture heat batteries are monitored during charging, via a 3rd contact, by an intelligence in the charger to prevent overcharging. The battery cells and associated electronics are placed in a capsule which is completely filled with an epoxy component so that the cells and electronics are protected against damage and water under all circumstances.
It is interesting to note that in the extremely rare cases when a battery catches fire it happens during its charging and not during use. Thereby, it can be deduced that in practically all cases there is overcharging or battery damage. For peace of mind, it is good to know that fire requires 3 elements: temperature, oxygen and fuel. Underwater there is no oxygen around the batteries, the temperature can never get high enough underwater for ignition and thirdly, Venture Heat Li-ion batteries are made of Metal Oxide which hardly contains any fuel. As a result, the chances of a Venture Heat battery causing problems underwater are virtually impossible.
